A Furious Veteran’s Day

Happy Veteran’s Day, with some not-untimely meditations:

1.  Do yourself a favor in the spirit of Veteran’s Day, and go see the movie ‘Fury.’  It is an impressive work.  It might be the best WWII movie to come out of Hollywood in a long, long time.  Besides, Brad Pitt is still hot, and a good actor.  Or so the Germans would have you believe… As always, if you disagree, please feel free to let the complaint department know.

2.  Just in time for Veteran’s Day, last night representatives from The Chronicles attended another meeting of the Board of Directors of RT.  The Military discount is chugging along, slowly but surely.  Eventually, some form of a discount to service members will be offered, or so it seems from all indications.  The board was presented with statistics and demographic data of veterans and active service members in the Sacramento area.  I am not quite sure if those numbers were accurate, but at least there is some effort being put forth by some parties who appear to be responsible for, and motivated to, make this thing happen.  If and when it eventually comes to pass, we at The Chronicles will be sure to cover the story with a view to increase our own glory as something in which we played a substantial role.  Because that’s just how we roll.

As always, remember to spay and neuter your pets, friends don’t let friends go to law school, and – as if it needs repeating – we hate McGeorge.
