News from AKA Thailand

I once proudly represented the American Kickboxing Academy®, often only referred to as AKA®, as a professional mixed-martial-arts (MMA) fighter. My fighting days may be behind me, but the brand continues to grow. An increasing number of talented fighters seek out AKA® for the training, expertise, and support they need to make their dreams come true in the sport of MMA. The most notable standout representing the brand is current UFC® heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez, as well as contenders Daniel Cormier, Luke Rockhold, Josh Thomson, and countless others, who are the flesh and blood embodiments of excellence that the AKA® brand represents.

AKA® is now expanding upon its reputation for excellence built by the products of its fighter-training camp in San Jose, California, with AKA Thailand™, run by my fellow American Kickboxing Academy® teammate and The Ultimate Fighter® season one member Mike Swick. Mike has custom built from the ground up a one-of-a-kind facility in Phuket, tailor-made for the best training in mixed-martial-arts, jiu-jitsu, and Muay Thai.

However, AKA Thailand™ is more than a fighter’s training facility. It is a state-of-the-art compound complete with the best in fitness and cross-training, in a beautiful setting where those who wish to challenge themselves to achieve their peak fitness goals can take advantage of the competition-tested methods used by some of the best athletes in the world. No other facility can come close to what AKA Thailand™ will offer to fitness enthusiasts and fitness tourists who wish to do more than just lay on the beach for vacation.

I have been to the facility as the finishing touches were applied, and I saw the vision that Mike had been talking about for years turn into reality. Now, AKA Thailand’s first fight camp is complete, and Wang Sai, who specifically sought out AKA Thailand™ to make sure he would receive the best possible training as he prepared for his upcoming bout, is ready to show the world what all the hard training has accomplished.

I look forward to more upcoming fighters representing the AKA Thailand™ banner, and I hope to be there to watch these young athletes develop into future champions.
